The Great Zoo Halloween at Fort Wayne’s zoo is completely kid-friendly, guaranteed to be merry, not scary. Children will be able to trick-or-treat around the zoo and admire the ten tons of pumpkins and gourds decorating the pathways, along with scenes from popular children’s books and movies. The National Zoo in Washington D. C. has its own Boo at the Zoo tradition. Children can visit the zoo at dark and enjoy trick-or-treating, animal encounters, keeper talks, festive decorations, and haunted trails. The San Francisco Zoo is planning an "un-BOO-lievably" wild Halloween and Dia de los Muertos celebration this year, featuring live music, contests, free arts and crafts and a chance to win lots of prizes and goodies. Kids can also have a howling good time encountering animals on the Haunted Nature Trail and visiting the Creepy Crawley Critters in the Insect Zoo. And in case you think Halloween is an American celebration, the Welsh Mountain Zoo in Wales is holding its first ever Halloween event which includes a special bonus: The day after Halloween, they are offering HALF PRICE admission to all visitors bringing in their used Halloween pumpkins. These pumpkins will be added to the diet of a variety of veggie eaters including the zoo's camels, bears, chimpanzees and red pandas.
Enjoying Halloween at the zoo is a fun and easy way to support your local zoo.
